iPhone 5S more popular than iPhone 5C by 350%

Apple claims to have sold 9 million iPhones since the release of iPhone 5S and 5C last Friday. Recent analysis by Localytics show that 4 out of 5 users, however, prefer the iPhone 5S over 5C according to the sales numbers.

While Apple should certainly be happy about its sales numbers of the new iPhone models since the release on Friday, Apple, however, may have miscalculated the demand for the two different models.

A recent analysis has shown that iPhone 5S sales account for 78% of the total number of sales, indicating that the, so called, budget model iPhone 5C does not really appeal to the customers.

The above numbers may not be very exciting for the western developed markets, however, surprisingly, 91% of the customers in China has chosen iPhone 5S instead of iPhone 5C. This is definitely an unpredictable outcome as prior to the launch, some even said that the C in 5C stands for China and was aimed at markets where the average income was slightly lower. Apparently this is not at all the case.

The most popular market segment is the UK market where the iPhone 5C sales account for 31% of the total number of units sold.
