Skype integration with Outlook released

Microsoft's intention to integrate Skype with Outlook has finally resulted in a product. As of today, users in a number of selected countries are able to place Skype calls and Skype instant messages direction from Outlook.com.

Skype in Outlook.com has finally been released by Microsoft. This highly anticipated feature of Outlook is now initially available for users in USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada and Brazil, with release for the remaining world is expected in the close future.

The integration with Skype and Outlook.com in many aspects makes a lot of sense as both are highly used communication channels. In many cases, an e-mail conversation will result in some kind of voice call. By integrating the two services, the users can engage in voice calls without the need to separately schedule a time and immediately be able to engage in a voice and/or video conversation with someone else.
