Twitter purchases Mopub advertisement company

Twitter has recently acquired the mobile advertisement company, Mopub, in an effort to motivate its stock-market introduction.

Twitter has announced that it has purchased Mopub, which is a company specializing in mobile advertisements and offers a advertisement network for app developers.

According to Twitter, the purpose of the purchase is to address two issues, mobile advertisements (obviously) but also directed and content-based advertisements. This is likely also directly related to the plans Twitter has to enter the stock market in January, for which it has to have strong motivations of its sources of income.

Mopub itself is happy with the transaction and is currently one of the most popular advertisement networks used by app developers which serves billions of advertisements every month.
