Surface RT 2 in the making and is expected soon

Despite disastrous sales numbers for the Surface RT tablets, Microsoft apparently has not given hope and has been working on a successor that will run Windows RT 8.1.

It is impossible to claim anything other than that Windows RT and the associated Surface RT products have been utter failures for Microsoft. In addition to horrible sales numbers, one partner after the other has left the Windows RT scene. However, despite these discouraging facts, Microsoft apparently has not given up hope.

According to Neowin, Microsoft has been working on a new generation of its Surface RT tablet, which is currently denoted Surface RT 2. The new tablet will run Windows 8.1 and will also come with an updated set of hardware under the hoods.

In addition, based on advertisement keyword analysis, where keywords such as "Microsoft Corporation Surface 2" and "Microsoft Corporation Surface with Windows 8.1 Pro" have appeared, it also seems like Microsoft will release a new generation of Surface Pro that will run Windows 8.1.

Not too much is known about the new generation of tablets, but the current consensus is that the tablets will be sold for the same price and will have similar physical appearances as the current Surface tablets.
